Compassionate Youths In Action
Overview
CYA (AMKFSC) 2018-2021
As part of my CCA, Compassionate Youths in Action (CYA), I volunteered at Kebun Baru Bestari RC every Monday as an Academic Coach under Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre (AMKFSC). I provided one-to-one coaching to primary school students from underprivileged families. I helped my student with any problems she faced with her weekly homework with school and we play games together during the holidays as well

CYa's publicity exco
As a project leader for AMKFSC, I am an exco member of CYA. I take on the role of a publicity exco member whereby I am in charge of CYA’s social media platforms and liaising with lecturers for publicity of events in HMS.
-Through this experience, I have honed my skills in editing and creating of media content.
-I also got to experiment with various themes and ways of creating posters, constantly challenging myself to be more creative. This has benefitted me as I have a clearer understanding of which designs and formats of engagement works the best on the media platforms.

HMS CCA Fiesta
The purpose of this CCA Fiesta was to promote the five different CCAs in our school, School of Humanities and Social Sciences. My CCA came up with positivity train cards to be given out at our booth at the CCA Fiesta. The cards had positive messages and tasks like “Make someone smile today!” for the people to fulfil.
I helped to design and print the cards that were given out at the event. Our booth was well-received by other students and even lecturers as they liked the idea of the positivity train as it made their day as well.
-Through this small planning and execution, I learnt how to promote the CCA's activities and projects to the public and also plan for events and activties.
-I also got to hone my skills in editing and designing of the cards as it challenged me to incorporate a social aspect into it.
